The company’s initial focus is ion exchange (IX) media for water treatment and environmental separations. Applications for AquaNano’s Captymer media range from the selective removal of contaminants (e.g., perchlorate, nitrate, bromide and uranium) from potable groundwater sources, to the recovery of nutrients (e.g. nitrate and phosphates) from secondary wastewater. Our Captymer media can also remove boron/borate from the product water of seawater desalination plants and ultrapure water treatment systems in semiconductor manufacturing plants. Future versions of Captymer media will be designed to address the separation needs of the mining, chemical, oil/gas, biofuel, food, pharmaceutical and nuclear industries.
